Jeannette Bull is certified in Manual Therapy and has a Master of Health Sciences in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. She is currently completing her Doctor of Health Sciences. In addition to her 20 years of clinical and managerial experience in outpatient and acute-care, she has academic experience at Western Carolina University as an assistant professor.

Dr. Donnelly is a certified Orthopedic Specialist. He has studied extensively in the United States and abroad. In addition to his teaching at GSU, Dr. Donnelly has also taught at Daemen College and the University of Pittsburgh. He is active in APTA and is Chief Delegate of Georgia to the APTA House of Delegates.

Philip Fabrizio is a certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist and is completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Marymount University. Prior to joining the faculty at Georgia State University, Mr. Fabrizio directed the anatomy lab and was a Clinical Instructor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and worked in outpatient and acute-care clinics. His research involves descriptive anatomical studies and aging effects on skeletal muscle.

Dr. Flynn has worked with children in the public school system, outpatient cardiac rehab, and inpatient neuro-rehabilitation. In 2004, she completed a three year post-doctoral fellowship in Neuroscience at the University of Florida McKnight Brain Institute. Dr. Flynn’s research interests are in activity dependent neuroplasticity after a central nervous system injury. Specifically, she is interested in the use of virtual reality to improve function after a nervous system injury.

Dr. Michael has practiced in acute care, wound care, outpatient, and nursing homes. She has held positions at both staff and supervisory levels. She is also a certified Pedorthist. Dr. Michael’s capstone project for her Post-Professional DPT degree focused on integrating the physical stress theory in the treatment of the foot and ankle. Dr. Michael is interested in community wellness initiatives for adults with Type II Diabetes.

Dr. Taylor’s research focuses on physical function and older adults. Specifically, her interests are in developing and evaluating physical activity interventions to maximize the independence, quality of life, and quality of care of those who are frail and chronically ill. Her teaching interests include rheumatology, geriatrics/gerontology, psychosocial aspects of disease and disability, and evidence-based research.

Dr. Thompson joined the GSU faculty in 1994. She is an exercise physiologist and has practiced in the field of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation in clinical settings for fifteen years. She holds certification through the American College of Sports Medicine as Rehabilitative Program Director. She is a Fellow in the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Dr. Tieman has practiced pediatric therapy in the New York City school system, Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center, and the Georgetown University Child Development Center. She has provided training and consultation to Early Intervention agencies and has served as a Clinical Instructor. Her publications include several articles and book chapters. She has presented at the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and the American Physical Therapy Combined Sections meetings.

Dr. Tunney has practiced primarily in the area of adult neurological, general, and geriatric rehabilitation. Her research focuses on motor learning in older adults, with published projects investigating the factors affecting motor learning and the impact of mental practice on motor learning. Currently, her teaching reflects her areas of clinical expertise and includes geriatrics, adult neuro-rehabilitation, and patient care skills.

Dr. Wang’s research focus is on three-dimensional kinematical and kinetic-analysis of gait, balance, muscle strength for the elderly, neuromuscular function, three dimensional kinematical patterns in wheelchair locomotion, rehabilitation, and the use of tai chi as a rehabilitative intervention. Dr. Wang has expertise in computer modeling and simulation of human movement.

Dr. Warren joined the GSU faculty in 1998. After completing his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Georgia in 1989, he worked as a Research Scientist in the field of Muscle Physiology. His research interests include the effects of injury, inflammation, disuse, estrogen deficiency, and spinal cord injury on skeletal muscle function. His research is world-renowned with over 1500 citations of his work in the scientific literature.
