Georgia State University’s Division of Physical Therapy students are the winners of the 20th Marquette Challenge

The Marquette Challenge is a fundraising effort conducted exclusively by physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students.  In addition, Georgia State which is the first public college or university to win, also received the Most Successful Newcomer Award.  As a result, the Challenge will be renamed the Georgia State-Marquette Challenge for 2008-2009.

The Challenge, founded by Marquette University students and co-sponsored for the 2007-2008 by the University of Pittsburgh, has generated over $1.3 million dollars for the Foundation for Physical Therapy.  The Foundation, formed in 1979, is charged with funding research that supports the development of evidence-based physical therapist practice; enhancing the quality of physical therapist services for patients and clients; and increasing the number of physical therapy researchers. See some photos from the weekend, as well as some of the surroundings after the storm.
