Stephanie Crutchfield (Coordinated Program ’82) is a United Methodist missionary of the General Board of Global Ministries assigned to Union Theological Seminary in Manila, Philippines. Stephanie serves on the seminary’s extension team as coordinator of work with the indigenous Aeta people. She is married to the Reverend Kim Crutchfield and they have two children, Justin and Mary.
Sara Hinkle (Graduate Program '89) has been working as a Certified Diabetes Educator for Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC for the past 15 years. Her job allows her to teach classes as well as spend one-on-one time with patients. She instructs patients on how to use insulin pumps while teaching insulin administration and home glucose monitoring.
Charleen Sibley (Coordinated Program ‘81) is currently the Dietetic Internship Coordinator at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA.
Dennis Smith (Coordinated Program '83) currently works as a coordinator in the Food and Nutrition Information Center of the USDA. There he is responsible for a staff of about 30 dietitians / nutritionists and IT professionals who develop award winning Internet websites for USDA Food Assistance Programs, NIH, FDA, and other government programs. He has also successfully completed a 25 year career in the military.
Leslie Steward (Coordinated Program '87) currently works with nurses and doctors in a large family medicine practice doing nutrition counseling. However, before this job, she worked at Piedmont Hospital for 14 years. She currently serves as President of the Greater Atlanta Dietetic Association.
Ellen Patterson Taranto (Coordinated Program '81) lives in Rockville Maryland with her husband and children. Ellen worked as a Lipid Research Clinic Dietitian at the George Washington University medical center from 1983 – 1992, which she feels was a fabulous place to work.
Ann Marie Twiggs (Coordinated Program '82) has achieved her dream job working full time as a Breastfeeding Coordinator for The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in the state of Ohio.
Angela Barton (Dietetic Internship '99) is currently employed part-time at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center as a Clinical Dietitian. She is also the president-elect of Eastern Shore Dietetic Association and recently celebrated the birth of her baby girl.
Cecilia Johnson Braswell (Coordinated Program ‘93) is a pharmaceutical sales representative with Abbott Laboratories. She currently resides in Macon, GA and is attending Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville and working on her Masters in Education with a focus on science and health education.
Jennifer Brent (Coordinated Program ‘92) is currently taking time off from work to raise her two children. She will be starting her second year of home schooling, which has proven to be difficult, yet rewarding. On occasion, she still sees individual clients and teaches various groups.
Joanna Bryant (Graduate Program ‘91) has been moving around the United States with her military husband since she graduated in 1991. In her travels, she has lived on every coast of the US. She keeps busy by being a full-time wife and mother.
Angelo Capozzoli (Coordinated Program ‘96) has been working in the renal field for the past 7 years. His subspecialties include peritoneal as well as hemodialysis and pre-end stage renal disease. He was the first dietitian to apply for Medicare credentials to become a medical nutrition therapy provider in Georgia. As a renal dietitian, he works closely with nephrologists, coworkers and patients. He enjoys the relationships built with his patient population and the close monitoring of their progress.
Kimberly S. Cates (Coordinated Program ‘97) is owner of Cates Nutrition Services, Inc. in Marietta, GA.
Reyana Ewing (Didactic Program ‘93) received her Master’s in Public Health at UCLA in 2000 in Community Health Science. She also teaches part-time at California State University in the nutrition department. She is married with three children and runs marathons (five so far) during her spare time.
Maureen Garner (Graduate Program ‘90) has worked as a clinical dietitian for Grady and Gwinnett Medical Center. Over the past three and a half years she has been the Regional Director for Morrison Management Specialist responsible for clinical and patient services for 52 hospitals in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
Michelle S. Gurin (Coordinated Program ‘97) is a part-time Consultant Dietitian for the U.S. Federal Penitentiary in Atlanta, GA.
Susan Hahn Hagood (Graduate Program ’92) resides in Decatur, GA and is employed as a Primary Care Dietitian at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Connie Hargens (Non-degree Graduate Student ‘95) is a RD, LD, and CNSD. She also belongs to a number of organizations such as The American Dietetic Association, The Georgia Dietetic Association, The Greater Atlanta Dietetic Association, and The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with friends or ballroom dancing.
Nancy T. Harmon (Coordinated Program ’94) married Sims in 1994. They have two daughters, Sadie and Elizabeth, and reside in Smyrna, GA. Nancy’s current projects include designing cookbooks and working with the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church Preschool program.
K. Leanne Hodges (Coordinated Program ‘90) spent 8 years as a Clinical Dietitian at Atlanta’s Shepherd Center. She has also served as a Manager of Nutrition Services at a home health company and also as a clinical/food service consultant in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She is currently employed as a Food Safety Specialist conducting food safety evaluations in restaurants.
DeAnna Jorgensen (Dietetic Internship ‘98) became a certified specialist in Renal Nutrition in November 2002. She also served as the President-elect for W.FL Dietetic Association from September 2002 to May 2003. In June of 2003, she transferred to the Phoenix, AZ market with the Renal Care Group. She enjoys the theater and outdoor activities.
Sandy Killam-Hall (Graduate Program ‘92) has been busy raising her two children. She is an avid PTA member and has helped to organize a food bank at her sons’ school to help families in need. She also works with children who have trouble reading as a Reading and Literacy volunteer.
Magon Mbadugha (Graduate Program ’98) presently serves on a number of advisory councils. These include the state wide diabetes advisory council, Teenage Mothers Nutrition Education Program (TAMS) Advisory Committee, and Morehouse’s National Center for Primary Care Training and Community Capacity Building Work Group.
Cheryl Orlansky (Didactic Program ‘91) currently works as part of a contract service for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. Her job is development, promotion, and delivery of nutrition programs along with helping supervise a staffed fitness center. She is also a registered and licensed dietitian and a member of the American Dietetic Association.
Wendy Pippin (Dietetic Internship ‘99) is currently employed at Rockdale Medical Center as an Inpatient Clinical Dietitian. She has recently competed in her first marathon where she represented the Georgia Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
Melissa Sugarman (Coordinated Program '96) received her CNSD title in 1999 and worked as a clinical nutrition specialist at Crawford Long Hospital in Georgia for 6 years. She currently serves as the newsletter chairperson for the Greater Atlanta Dietetic Association and is Regional Nutrition manager for Apria Healthcare. She enjoys home healthcare and learning about the business/financial side of things.
Rachel Belew (Combined DI/MS '03) is currently employed full time as a clinical nutrition specialist for Columbus Regional Medical Center. She is responsible for the ICU/CCU and pediatric floors. She is also actively involved in the Columbus community presenting on various nutrition related topics. She is currently working on starting a nutrition support team at the hospital as well as a nutrition training session for first year residents.
Anne Boyle (Didactic Program ‘03) is currently completing an internship at the University of California at San Francisco. Though very challenging, she finds the program very rewarding as well. While often very busy, she still manages to take weekend trips to explore the beautiful landscapes surrounding the San Francisco area.
Karla Coffee Dunning (Didactic Program ’03) completed a dietetic internship program at Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama in the spring. She is currently employed as a dietitian at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.
Stephany Duvall (Dietetic Internship and Graduate Program ‘01) is a sales manager for Medline in central Florida and resides in Deltona, FL.
Joseph Engelbird (Didactic Program ‘03) works full-time as a clinical dietitian at Tanner Health System. He also has a number of side projects including working with Kaiser Permanente in the operation zero pediatric health intervention as both chef and dietitian. He also works part-time as an instructor of culinary arts at the Art Institute of Atlanta.
Lori R. Ennis (Dietetic Internship and Graduate Program ’02) is currently serving as new membership co-chair for the GDA. She is employed as a Regional Dietitian Consultant for Ethica Health and Retirement Communities and resides in Decatur, GA. Prior to this position, Lori was in the Division of Nutrition at UGA and implemented a community education program for low-income women and their families.
Sharon Lee Ezell (Dietetic Internship ‘ 02) is currently involved with the Augusta Area Dietetic Association. She works in critical care and serves as a preceptor for the Augusta Area Dietetic Internship. She is also anxiously awaiting her Fiancé’s return from Iraq.
Maria Figueroa (Didactic Program ‘00) is a full-time registered dietitian for Davita Dialysis Clinic. She also works part-time for a small hospital in Smyrna, Georgia. Each month she enjoys holding a diabetes class at Emory-Adventist Hospital. She is also a preceptor for the Emory University Dietetic Internship.
Jennifer Fralic (Dietetic Internship ‘00) is enjoying her job at a nonprofit agency based in Columbus, Ohio. There she has the opportunity to do medical nutrition therapy in wellness clinics as well as client homes. She also does nutrition education at congregate meal sites and local senior centers.
Renita Graham (Didactic Program '01) recently located to Columbia, South Carolina as a member of the US ARMY. Over the past two years, she has worked as a renal dietitian at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, before being assigned as Chief of the Nutrition Care Division at Moncrief Army Community Hospital.
Kim McArdle Heck (Dietetic Internship and Graduate Program ’03) was employed in the Department of Foods and Nutrition at the University of Georgia following graduation.
Leigh Ann Kenda (Dietetic Internship ‘02) is a Clinical Dietitian at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Jeanne McDaniel (Graduate Program '01) works part-time at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as a clinical dietitian. An entrepreneur at heart, she has been able to start her own private practice called The Nutrition Source. She is also a certified specialist in pediatrics.
Marisa Moore (Dietetic Internship ‘02) is employed full-time at DeKalb Medical Center as the outpatient dietitian. She provides diabetes education in individual and group settings, with a major focus on type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes self-management. Recently, she began working as a wellness counselor for Lean Cuisine for one of their nationally sponsored events.
