Comments from the Professor

I like cities. I started my academic career teaching at NYU and really enjoyed the diverse student body and experiences that NYC offered. Having received my academic degrees from large, public, landgrant institutions, working in a city was new to me, and I loved it. Atlanta is a southern version of NYC, with its diverse museums, zoos, concerts, sports, and colleges/universities, on a smaller scale and at a slightly slower pace. Georgia State is in the middle of one of the fastest growing, most diverse areas of the U.S. "In the middle" takes on a broad meaning at Georgia State, where our students participate in activities, not just read about them. The faculty are involved in research projects and public service areas that are interesting and diverse. Every day is interesting.
