Traditional and Accelerated
Applications and Requirements
A complete nursing application contains the following: Application Cover
Sheet, two Letters of Recommendation, 2-page Essay, Short Answers (including
courses taken table), and unofficial Transcripts (only for students who have
obtained college credit at another institution). All application materials must
be submitted to the CHHS Office of Academic Assistance inside a letter size
envelope as one complete packet. Only complete applications that are
received by the nursing application deadline will be reviewed for admission.
You must also take the Nursing Entrance Test (NET) as a part of your application
process. If taken at Georgia State University, the NET must be taken by the last
testing date listed on the website. If taken at another college, NET scores must
be submitted directly to the BFL School of Nursing and received no later than
nursing application deadline. Scores received after the deadline will not be
considered. Scores submitted within the application packet will not be
considered.

Two Letters of Recommendation
A. One letter must be academic (preferable college level); the other may be
academic or professional.
B. Letters must include the contact information of the reference and must
be presented in a professional format.
C. Each letter must be submitted in a sealed envelope that is signed
across the flap.
**(Applicants MUST include the un-opened
recommendation letters with their nursing application. Letters that are
submitted directly by the reference OR that have been opened will not be
considered.)

Essay - Discuss your position on a healthcare or social issue in a two-page,
double-spaced, typed essay. Include your full name on the first page of the
document. Do not include cover pages, report covers, or graphics.

Transcripts - If you have taken courses at another college or university
during the last two semesters, you must submit a transcript from each school in
which you received credit for this time period. The transcript(s) sent with your
nursing application materials may be unofficial, but will not substitute for
your official transcripts that need to be sent to the Undergraduate Office of
Admissions. (Do not submit transcripts if you have taken all of your courses at
Georgia State University.)

Entrance Exam - The Nursing Entrance Exam must
be taken as part of your application. Exams taken at Georgia State require
registration.
NOTE: You must be accepted by Georgia State University as a degree-seeking
undergraduate student before your nursing application will be reviewed. Nursing
applicants that have not been accepted by Georgia State by our nursing
application deadline will not be considered for admission for the semester in
which you are applying. Please contact Georgia State's Undergraduate Admissions
Office regarding processing time for your university application.
