Welcome to the National Center on Grandparents Raising Grandchildren.  The National Center was established in 2001, within the College of Health and Human Sciences at Georgia State University. Our aim is to support grandparent-headed families in order that they may secure a promising future for their grandchildren. Because of the exceptional nature of this family arrangement, we endeavor to inform service professionals, decision makers and the general public on the unique social and health service issues confronted by grandparents and their grandchildren. Through a variety of venues, the National Center serves as a resource for researchers, practitioners and policy makers seeking to generate, disseminate, and apply new knowledge that enhances the lives of grandparent-headed families.

Since its beginning, the National Center has partnered with other organizations that have an interest in aging and kinship care. We hope to sustain our relationship with existing partners, but we also look forward to establishing relationships with new partners so that we may work together for the health and well-being of all grandparents raising grandchildren across the nation.
