Prospective Students
Our two degree programs in Criminal Justice (B.S. and M.S.) meet the academic needs of both pre professional students and those already employed in the criminal justice and juvenile justice systems. The programs focus on the preparation of criminal justice professionals with advanced competencies in such specialties as policing, courts, corrections, and the law.
|
In addition, many of our graduates go on to enter a doctoral program or complete their legal education in law school. Our curriculum for both bachelors and masters students has been streamlined in order to enhance student choice and expand the number of courses available for specialization. In addition, our programs offer internships to those students with limited or no experience in the criminal justice profession. |
With over 400 majors at the undergraduate level and over 40 graduate students in our master’s program, the Department of Criminal Justice has 13 full time faculty with varied backgrounds in criminal justice, criminology, experimental social psychology, government, history, law, and sociology.
Our program has a Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA) that meets throughout the school year and hosts guest lecturers as well as our spring job fair where agencies come to campus to recruit students.
