Social Work Associate Professor Mindy R. Wertheimer Appointed CHHS Associate Dean for Academics

Mindy R. Wertheimer, clinical associate professor, has been appointed Associate Dean for Academics in the College of Health and Human Sciences by Dean Susan Kelley.   Wertheimer has assumed her new responsibilities effective July 1 and will continue serving as a faculty member with administrative responsibilities in the School of Social Work. 

Since 1994, Wertheimer has been the School’s Director of Field Education, which is the practical experience component of both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs.  She has been on faculty at Georgia State since 1980. 

She is the author of the recently published The Board Chair Handbook and numerous articles, book chapters, and papers on community partnerships, non profit boards, and other issues facing non profit organizations.
 
Wertheimer received her Ph.D. from Georgia State University, her M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University, and her B.A. in Social Welfare from Pennsylvania State University.
