Regents Professor Emeritus David Martin featured in the 25th anniversary publication of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS)

MartinRegents Professor Emeritus David Martin, frequently sought by the media for his expertise in improving athletic performance, has been featured in the 25th anniversary publication of the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS).  Martin was part of the group of founders of AIMS in 1982 and continues to serve as the organization’s statistician.  AIMS fosters marathon running and sets a “world circuit” of marathons races, now encompassing 235 races around the world.

Martin was part of the team that helped prepare the 2004 medal-winning men’s and women’s marathon teams.  He has served as an advisor to several other successful distance runners and has published more than 50 articles and five books on training techniques.  Martin was given the Giegengack Award from USA Track & Field for his contributions to the sport in late 2006.
